Canteen will be open twice daily for
Teener and Senior campers to buy soft drinks and snacks.
Drinks and snacks are 50 cents each.
Canteen is included in the cost of Buddy, Beginner, and
Middler camps.
T-Shirts ($12), and DVDs ($5) will be sold
during registration and throughout each camp week. The only
other money your child may wish to bring is for the missions
offering.
In Case of Emergency
The phone number at the camp is (706) 754-3562. The
camp office phone number is (706) 754-4513.
Campers are discouraged from bringing cell phones, as they
disrupt the camp program. If your child needs to talk
to you, permission will be given to use the camp phone.
What to Bring
Bible, pencil, paper, bedding(twin-size), pillow, toilet articles, wash
cloth, towels, sportswear, swimming suit and flashlight.
Dress Suggestion
Sportswear is the most common type dress for camp. In
swimming, if modesty is questioned, you should have a
t-shirt to wear over the suit.
Visiting
the Camp
Visitors are discouraged from coming to the camp because the
program is usually disrupted. If you do need to visit,
please check in with the Dean immediately upon arrival, and
plan to keep your visit to within one hour. Meals are
$3.00 per plate. The camp is not open to the public
during summer programs.
Preparing Your Child for Camp
Review the confirmation
packet:
You and your child should go over the
appropriate information included in your confirmation
packet. Talk about camp policy and the arrival and
departure times for his/her camp. Make sure your child is
aware of who will pick him/her up from camp.
Talk about clothes:
Involve your youngster in selecting
clothes. Do the packing together so that he/she is aware
of what is in the suitcase. It is helpful to mark the
clothing with a laundry marker. You may wish to send a
plastic bag for dirty clothes.
Sidestep the separation:
DO NOT SUGGEST TO YOUR CHILD THAT HE/SHE
CAN CALL HOME IF HE/SHE GETS HOMESICK. That is a statement
a child never forgets. Do not even introduce a
conversation about homesickness in your preparations, as
this may just set your child up for it. If it happens,
the camp staff will work with the child, and the camp staff
will make the phone call if a parent needs to be involved.
Prepare the postage: Parents, like campers, always like to
hear from their child. Consider pre-addressing and
stamping cards or envelopes for your child to use at camp.
Mail Call is after lunch each day. You may write to
your child at the camp address. Be sure to put his/her name on the
front.
